These yards were a new build with our returning clients from 2016, John & Kate Scott (Allandale, Roma) and their neighbour Willy Davidson. The property is located near Wyaga, QLD, with the yard site chosen for ease of access from the main road and position within the properties internal paddock and laneway system.

Thompson Longhorn custom-designed these yards to specifically meet our clients' requirement for an under-cover core working centre suitable for working in QLD conditions. The project includes a core operating centre with a Monarch MK2 pneumatic Restrainer and 4-way auto-drafting facility operated by Tru-Test weighing equipment. This combination enables stock to be drafted into pre-set weight ranges with minimal labour units. Typically, the yards are operated by only one or two people, so the optimum stock-flow was paramount to the design. An integrated catwalk along the entire length of the bugle yard and crowding yard, ensure movement of cattle through the core centre is efficient and safe. With a capacity of 500 head, these yards allow the client to process medium-sized mobs and load trucks using the adjustable double deck loading ramp. An 18m x 15m roof over the core operating centre equipment, provides relief from the heat of the Western Downs.
