Palgrove Sale Facility - Glen Wilga

Palgrove are a company that need no introduction to the agricultural world. Their reputation for the highest quality Charolais and Ultra Black bulls is second to none and we are honoured to have worked with them to create the masterpiece that is their new selling facility at Glen Wilga, southeast of Chinchilla, QLD.

This new sale facility was a greenfield site, with a very short timeframe to get it turned around in. Right up until the day before the sale, both the Palgrove and TL team worked tirelessly to make this project a reality and the very first sale in this new facility was a fabulous success!

Their project consisted of three key areas; the sale arena shed, the processing shed, and the bull pens. Each part of these individual components needed to shine in their own right, while integrating together to be efficient and practical.

The processing shed consists of a manual 3-way draft, parallel race, 360° manual crowding yard, manual slide gates and an 18m x 14m shed to cover the core equipment.

The sales arena shed has a “standard” sale ring design where they come in on one side, through the rounded sale ring, then out the other side. The auctioneers are up on a raised platform with a selling bench. We constructed a grandstand that directly faces the selling ring and has a gap at the back for trade stalls and mingling space while staying undercover.

The bull pens are set in a way that they are completely functional to hold a small number of bulls and gives people the ability to walk through them whilst still allowing them space. To best use the available space, they are set around a 90° corner.

This facility was a unique work of art and we are incredibly proud of the end result. We thank the Palgrove management team for being remarkably open minded to work alongside and we are incredibly proud of this facility!

We wish Palgrove every success with their future sale days!
