Smithfield Cattle Co - Proston, QLD

Smithfield Cattle Company is a specialist beef cattle lot feeding business. Their original feedlot, Smithfield Feedlot, is based in Proston, QLD. In 2016, they expanded by adding Sapphire Feedlot in Yelarbon, QLD.

In 2020, a new facility was designed and constructed at Smithfield Feedlot. The core centre features a Monarch MKII restrainer, a pneumatic 5-way draft, a V-profile curved lane with an offshoot to a hoof trimming restrainer. The facility also includes a 360° pneumatic crowding yard, pneumatic sliders, and yard gates. The pneumatic gates are operated by a radio frequency control system with handheld remotes.
