Thompson Longhorn was engaged to design, manufacture and install a large 420 yard cattle exchange facility. Existing selling facilities were becoming out dated and out grown. The new facility is referred to as NVLX which is an acronym for Northern Victoria Livestock eXchange.

Scope

  • 2D and 3D Design, quantity survey and estimating.
  • Build a dedicated test facility to trial auctioneers walkways and sale pen design.
  • Yards to integrate with overhead roof structure
  • Safe public buying and agent selling access
  • Loading and unloading of trailers, single deck and double deck trucks as well as quick unloading dump ramps
  • Optimized for pre-sale weighing
  • Weigh bulk mobs of cattle via a weighbridge and singularly via a dedicated crushes
  • Equipment able to be controlled from hand remotes and semi automatically with saleyards software, reducing excessive staff & supporting WH&S standards.
  • Support horse rider workflow & gate operation
  • Equipment conforms to NLIS scanning equipment requirements
  • Address animal welfare issues such as drinking water availability and low stress animal handling equipment
  • Capable of accommodating and maintaining soft fill flooring
  • Provide dust suppression
  • Stock holding capabilities with feed bunkers and water
